The Compound Martial Arts Studio Will Have its Grand Opening Event This Saturday, 5/4

The Compound, a local veteran-owned martial arts studio, is celebrating its Grand Opening on May 4, 2019 from 1-4pm, at 12210 Plum Orchard Drive, Suite 207, in Silver Spring. Next to the Target Shopping Center in Cherry Hill. The grand opening is free to the public and will feature an open house, food truck, kids’ activities, music, open mat and more!

The Compound is a martial arts school built on a foundation of self-defense and three key pillars – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MuayThai, and Military/Law Enforcement Combatives. Not only do they have classes for all ages and all levels, they also offer an extremely special after-school program and summer camp for ages 5-12 that focuses on teaching kids the importance of self-confidence, discipline, and perseverance. Their goal in these programs is to provide parents with a SAFE environment that is EFFECTIVE and AFFORDABLE for their child to reach his or her maximum potential!

“We are extremely excited to bring this martial arts studio into the community. We believe in the power of teamwork, self-discipline, and integrity to create positive change. Teaching kids how to empower themselves and help others around them to promote an anti-bullying environment is one of our main goals,” says owner Pow Srikachorn.

The Compound is a true American Dream story: Fueled by their passion for health and wellbeing, it was founded by two American military veterans, Pow Srikachorn, a first-generation Thai and Filipino-American and Pasha Palanker, a two time Purple Heart recipient and a naturalized citizen from Moldova. They both believe in hard work and possess a spirit of never, ever giving up. Their commitment to this country, along with their ability to overcome obstacles and to inspire perseverance in others really sets these two apart from so many others who find themselves in the fitness industry.
