Art League of Germantown Celebrates 10th Annual Juried Exhibition

Arts on the Green in presents the 10th Annual Juried Membership Exhibition of the Art League of Germantown (ALOG). The exhibit is on display through April 16, 2023 At the Kentlands Mansion in Gaithersburg.

As part of this special exhibition, a multidiscipline workshop, Blooms & Beyond: Beginner’s Guide to Paper Flowers, will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 10:30 am to noon. Bill Mapes, ALOG’s Special Show Coordinator & Jaree Donnelly, the City’s Gallery Program Coordinator & a long-time art instructor, will share their insights about some of their favorite floral pieces from the exhibition. Jaree will share basic techniques on how to bring art to life with an introductory paper flowers craft class. All materials to create a card featuring paper flowers is included.

Meet the artists & view their works at a joint Artists Reception on Sunday, February 26 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at both Kentlands Mansion & the Arts Barn, where the Pushing Boundaries exhibit is also on display. The joint reception is open to all & free to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Masks are encouraged, but not required. Juror & art professor, Liana Owad, will be there to talk about her selections & hand out the awards. ALOG members will be providing docent tours of the exhibit on Saturday, April 15, during the Arts Barn 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Now in its 40th year, ALOG was founded in 1983 to further the careers of fine artists & crafters and to bring an appreciation of the arts & offer education to the community. 17th Annual Kensington Day of the Book Festival

Now in its 17th year, the Kensington Day of the Book Festival is a family-friendly street festival featuring 150+ renowned authors, poets, and literary organizations.
