Support MoCo: Great Shoals Takoma Park and Dosa & Chaat

Support MoCo! We are working with Great Shoals Takoma Park and Dosa & Chaat (Kentlands) to let you know about what they have to offer during this difficult time.

Great Shoals Takoma Park (photos 2,4,6,8) is a winery tasting room, retail store, and wine bar in old town Takoma Park.

They are focused on promoting their own unique local wines alongside local craft beers and carefully picked national and international wines.

Their selection ranges from traditional dry reds to experimental hard ciders to dessert style fruit wines, so they truly have something for everyone.

They are currently still open to serve our customers 12-6pm, Thursday-Sunday, every week. You can order online for curbside pickup or no-contact delivery within 5 miles of the store!

“Since Governor Hogan’s announcement on March 16, 2020, Co-Owner/Chef Gopi Swamynathan of DOSA & CHAAT restaurant and Hot Breads Bakery has been balancing the duty of satisfying customers during this terrible coronavirus pandemic, but also preparing donation trays of food for first responders: fire departments, police departments, healthcare facilities, and hospitals. Deliveries have served an average of 400 people per day. Gopi and the staff have been doing this on their own and this is done on a daily basis without fail.

Additionally, Dosa & Chaat donates to a food recovery organization called NOURISH NOW, on a daily basis, to families in need.

Dosa & Chaat employs individuals with disabilities (Autism), offering vocational training and employment, thereby creating a community of inclusion and opportunity.

The team at Dosa & Chaat/Hot Breads is committed to equal opportunities for people with disabilities seeking employment, giving to the community as we fight this pandemic, as well as providing quality food and service to their customers, even when business is challenged during this pandemic.”
