Proposed Timeline for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction

11/10 Update: This plan was tentatively approved by the MoCo Board of Education at today’s meeting.

Proposed Timeline for Safe Return to In-Person Instruction

Per this afternoon’s Montgomery County Board of Education meeting:

If health metrics are met, then a phased-in return to in-person instruction will begin on:

Tuesday, January 12th, 2021 for special populations (this group will include students who have struggled the most with virtual learning).

Monday, February 1st, 2021 for other groups.

This will be a hybrid model that will include both virtual and in-person instruction, not a full-time return to in-person instruction.

The health metric matrix below shows requirements that must be met for the phased-in return to begin.

MCPS will require health screenings that will consist of questionnaires and not temperature checks. Below are the slides that touch on Health and Safety, including PPE distribution.

Further discussion took place on Positive Covid Case Response, Building Preparation: School Set Up, Signage, and Air Quality and is ongoing.

Below you will see the Recommended Group Phasing Sequence
