MoCo Monday Fit Tip: Does Food Control You?

Demetra Eftimiades (Deme), is an online fitness coach here in the Washington D.C. area. She has also been featured for transforming her body losing 50 lbs of fat and gaining weight back, in muscle. Deme has been featured in Washingtonian, Bodybuilding.com, MSN.com, POPSUGAR, and many more.

Out of all the fitness and health questions I get, this one takes the cake:⁣⁣⁣
“How do I stay consistent?”⁣⁣⁣
OR ⁣⁣⁣
“How do I eat in moderation and not end up eating the entire bag of chips?”⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Sound familiar? ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
You are not alone.⁣⁣⁣
I’ve helped women who have struggled with this for years, myself included.⁣⁣⁣
I’ve been overweight my entire life up until I found my passion for health.⁣⁣⁣
I know how it feels to have food control you. ⁣⁣⁣
To not want to go out with friends because you know there’s going to be pizza and cake and you might think you’ll “ruin” your diet if you ate those things because you can’t control yourself. ⁣⁣⁣
To feel like a complete failure for allowing yourself to have holiday desserts.⁣⁣⁣
To lose weight, get stuck and then gain it all back and then some. ⁣⁣⁣
Feeling like you’re just STUCK in the same place and trapped in your mind and habits. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
This cycle needs to end.⁣⁣⁣
Especially with the holidays just a few weeks away. It can be hard to lose weight while still getting to enjoy your eggnog at holiday work events if you don’t have a plan. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
Don’t allow yourself to go one more month with feeling this way, with staying in the same place, without seeing any change in your body but more importantly, change with your mindset.⁣⁣⁣
⁣Invest in your health the way you do other things that are important to you in your life. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣Go to the grocery store, get the foods you love but also get foods that you know are nutritious. It’s about balance and enjoying what you eat.
Start small and work your way up. You have 7 days during the week to fit in exercise.
Your workout doesn’t need to last hours: 30 min – 45 min three times per week will do the trick!

Make that decision that will change your life now.
Learn what it feels like to thrive by doing the following:⁣⁣⁣
– Connect with an awesome accountability group of people who all have similar goals as you
– No more cycles of yo-yo dieting⁣⁣⁣
– No more “all or nothing” diet rules⁣⁣⁣
– Discover a lifestyle of fitness that’s not restrictive and gives you the results you’re looking for.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
You deserve to give your body the best because this is the only one that you have.⁣⁣⁣
You deserve balance, and to finally feel like you’re progressing, not failing. ⁣⁣⁣
