This past weekend, she took the recent high school graduates and their management team (20 in total) out to dinner to celebrate their success. This wasn’t just a regular dinner, as the team dressed up, met at Chick-fil-A, and were picked up by a limo that took them all to dinner at Copper Canyon in the Rio Washingtonian Center.
“We are in the people business. As much as it’s about pushing chicken sandwiches and fries across the counter, it’s more about investing in the lives of our guests and team members.” Smith told The MoCoShow.
Smith also told us that she understands her high school student team members are juggling academic pressures, intense athletic programs and some have challenging personal lives at home. She appreciates that they have committed to working a demanding job at Chick-fil-A, telling us “I am proud of their dedication to the brand and working hard to dream big and achieve personal goals. We will continue to celebrate them throughout the summer and as they go off to pursue further education. We understand that we are merely a chapter in their life, yet we hope they feel genuinely cared for while working for Chick-fil-A.”
The graduates, who came from Poolesville, Northwest, Seneca Valley, Clarksburg, Watkins Mill, and Gaithersburg Hgh Schools, were also given a Chick-fil-A backpack and book called “Adulting 101: #Wisdom4Life” by Josh Burnette and Pete Hardesty.
