For 3 Sisters Receives a $25,000 Grant from State Farm

For 3 Sisters, an Olney-based organization dedicated to raising awareness, educating the community, and improving the quality of life of those affected by breast cancer will receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm.

In just 10 days in August, 167,000 people cast 4.5 Million votes in support of their favorite causes. As a result, 40 communities, in 19 states will be getting an assist from State Farm. State Farm is proud to announce the Top 40 vote-getting causes that will each receive a $25,000 grant to improve their communities.

State Farm Neighborhood Assist is a crowd-sourced philanthropic program that empowers communities to identify issues in their neighborhoods. Non-profits affiliated with each of the top 40 causes receive grants to address them.

“Emergency rental and mortgage assistance, particulary for families affected by a breast cancer diagnosis, is an unmet need in both our local Baltimore/Washington Metro Area community, as well as nationwide, and this Neighboorhood Assist grant will make a significant improvement to the lives of those affected families in our communities” said Marshall Moneymaker, Founder of For 3 Sisters.

“State Farm is here to help life go right in neighborhoods all across the country. We look forward to seeing the changes in these 40 communities because of these Neighborhood Assist grants,” said Allison Bertsche, Public Affairs Director at State Farm.

At least one submission was received from each of the 50 states. The State Farm Review Committee selected the top 200 finalists from 2,000 submissions.

There will be a check presentation and open house next Tuesday, 10/29 at 10am (18200 Georgia Ave, Suite H Olney, MD).
