After 7-11 moved to their former gas station location, we reported that Manginos was given less than two weeks to move out and that they’d be moving into Germantown Plaza (read here).
Their new location, 13015 Wisteria Dr., is now open. It contains 7 tables and 34 seats to dine-in, but is still awaiting fountain drinks (they have bottles for now).
The flyer at the restaurant still features the old address, but their phone number remains the same (301)528-5600.

Josh Hart grew up in Silver Spring. Prior to transferring to Sidwell Friends in D.C., he attended and played basketball at Wheaton High School.
Hart grew up playing basketball for the Montgomery County Bearcats, where his coaches praised him for his heart at an early age. He made the varsity basketball team as a freshman at Wheaton, eventually becoming a starter in the second half of the season.
Even though he transferred to Sidwell Friends and played there the last three years of his high school basketball career, his ties to MoCo remained strong. His mother has been a long-time employee at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville and his father is a retired caterer.
After Sidwell Friends, he attended and played for the Villanova Wildcats for four years. He started for much of his junior and senior seasons and won a national championship in 2016.
When he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Draft last year, he vowed that his parents would never work again.
As a rookie, Hart started 23 games Lakers. He played 23.2 minutes per game and averaged 7.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Hart was recently named the NBA’s Summer League MVP. He averaged 22.4 points per game, which was the most among players with at least three appearances in the 7 game season.
The future is looking bright for the young MoCo native!
This past winter we discussed the possibility of a fourth Starbucks drive-thru joining the current locations in Burtsonville, Gaithersburg, and Kensington: Starbucks Drive-Thru Rumor
Last night, the City of Gaithersburg approved a sketch plan that would allow the Kentlands Starbucks location to move and potentially add a drive-thru.
Not everyone has been on board, as many Kentlands/Lakeland’s residents feel that at a drive-thru would not fit the mold of a walkable community, but it seems as thought it’s going to happen.
If you’ve been in the area lately, you’ve probably seen the construction in the Center Point Way area.
The City of Gaithersburg has multiple pages of information regarding the updates coming to the Kentlands: Projects Page

19501 Georgia Avenue in Brookeville was the longtime home of The Inn at Brookeville Farms. It is now the home of The Manor at Silo Falls.
According to their Facebook page , The Manor At Silo Falls will be a restaurant, but they will also be hosting and catering indoor and outdoor events.
The restaurant will have the same owner, management team, and focus as Bolder, a restaurant located in Howard County. I spoke with management at Bolder today and they told me they are expecting a late summer opening (August/September 2018).

Zelalem was born in Germany to Ethiopian parents. Following his mother’s death, he and his father moved to the United States in 2006 when he was 9 years old.
He joined the elite club team, Olney Rangers, in Montgomery county, and played varsity soccer at Walter Johnson High school. Zelalem joined Aresenal’s youth squad in 2013 and made his senior squad debut in 2014. Most recently, Zelalem accepted a loan to Dutch second-tier club, VVV-Venlo, that lasted until the end of last season.
He has also played for the U.S Youth National teams.
Ebobisse also attended Walter Johnson High School, where he played with the previously mentioned Gedion Zelalem. He played at Duke University for two years before being drafted by the Portland Timbers.
The 21 year old is currently playing for MLS side, Portland Timbers, and has played for the U.S Youth National teams.
Adu, of Sequoyah Elementary School in Derwood and The Heights School in Potomac, is the youngest athlete to ever sign a professional contract in the United States.
In 2004, at age 14, he was selected by DC United in the MLS draft. A few months later he scored his first MLS goal (also at age 14). He was considered the future of U.S. Soccer and dubbed “the next Pele.”
Unfortunately, Adu never lived up to expectations. After leaving DC United in 2006, he has played for 13 teams in 8 different countries.
Freddy, now 29, currently plays for Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL (second division in USA).
Wallce moves to the United States with his family when he was 9, growing up in Rockville and playing for Potomac Soccer Association and The Bullis School. He also played at the University of Maryland, College Park.
He was drafted by D.C. United when he was 20 and played there for two seasons before being traded to the Portland Timbers. He went on to play internationally in Portugal (F.C. Arouca) and Brazil (Sport Recife) before returning to MLS when he signed with New York City FC In 2017.
He recently participated in the World Cup, coming on as a substitute for Costa Rica in their 2-2 tie against Switzerland.
Slapfish is opening their Rockville location on Friday, July 20th at 11am (10255 Rockville Pike).
To celebrate, they’ll be giving away 107 lobster rolls to the first 107 people in line, according to their Facebook page.
The “modern seafood shack” is a fast casual restaurant with locations primarily on the west coast and Southwestern United States. It has been called “the Chipotle of Seafood.”
The Rockville location will be their first on the east coast and will be joining Cava and Honeygrow at Montrose Crossing. These very strong fast casual restaurants will quickly help us forget about Timpano Italian Chophouse, the restaurant that was demolished to make way for the current structure that is home to the fast-casual eateries.
Today is July 11th, and many of us know what that means...free Slurpees at 7-Eleven!
You can get a free small Slurpee at any 7-Eleven today (from 11am-7pm) as well as a Big Bite for just $1. Even though National Hot Dog Day isn’t for another week, 7-Eleven has decided to pair the $1 hot dog with Slurpee day.
Dont worry, you’ll still be able to get your $1 Big Bite on July 18th as well.
